About Tumbleweed Junction

A family-run desert campground 25 years in the making — 120+ sites, six stay types, and one simple rule: treat every camper like a neighbor.

Our Story

It started with twelve sites and a windmill

In 1999 the Merritt family opened a twelve-site stopoff on the old Benson highway with a hand-painted sign and a borrowed well pump. Word traveled the way it does among RVers — site by site, story by story. Today the park holds more than 120 sites across six loops, but check-in still ends the same way: a hand-drawn map and a real recommendation for dinner.
